In our culture, “Water is Life” is not just a belief—it’s our way of living.
Today, as the water crisis grows, conservation and reuse have become more important than ever.
Taking this need seriously, a major initiative to revive and rejuvenate old wells in the Lokmanya Nagar area of the Ovala–Majiwada Assembly Constituency has been undertaken.
Wells at Morewadi Chawl Laxmipark Phase-1, Shankarmandir, Lokmanya Nagar Pada No. 2 Railway Colony, and Lokmanya Nagar Pada No. 4 have been restored with fresh life.
Under this effort:
- 36 out of 70 old wells in Thane were cleaned
- Silt was removed, and natural water springs were reactivated
- RO plants have been installed to ensure clean, potable water for citizens
This initiative, with a dedicated allocation of ₹50 crore, will significantly help address local water scarcity and provide reliable drinking water to thousands of residents.
A step towards sustainability. A step towards safeguarding our future.
